The Story of L’Hermitage
In 1926, François André, founder of the hotel group that would later become Barrière, envisioned L’Hermitage overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Built in just seven months, the hotel immediately established itself as the beating heart of the La Baule resort. Concerts, receptions, extended summer s...tays, and international social gatherings soon made it the stage for a refined holiday lifestyle of which, a century later, it remains the enduring symbol.
