In your opinion, what is the best time to organize a weekend in Deauville?
It all depends on the atmosphere you are looking for, but I would say the season really starts in May, when events multiply and all places are open. Trends also change a lot with the climate in recent years: if the weather is nice, the season can stretch from April until the end of September, or even October. I've already seen clients in t-shirts on the beach in the middle of October enjoying a very nice late season.
Friday afternoon: Arrival in Normandy
After about two hours of driving or by train from the capital, you arrive in Deauville, the most upscale destination on the Côte Fleurie. The change of scenery is striking and the invigorating air of the Channel replaces the bustle of Paris.
3PM: Arrival in Deauville and check-in at your hotel
For your accommodation, settle into one of the three Barrière hotels in Deauville, each iconic in its own way.
The Normandy, a true architectural gem inaugurated in 1912, immerses you in a timeless Anglo-Norman atmosphere and has hosted many movie stars.
The Royal Deauville embodies the grandeur of the Belle Époque with its majestic facades and breathtaking views of the sea.
Finally, L’Hôtel du Golf, perched on the lush heights of Saint-Arnoult, offers a peaceful haven in the heart of a prestigious 18-hole course. Whether with family, as a couple, or with friends, you'll enjoy high-end services and facilities with our spas, pools, and restaurants to start your weekend on a high note.
We often ask ourselves: how to choose between Le Royal, Le Normandie, and the Hôtel du Golf?
There really is an identity and a clientele for each. The Normandie is for those who want to be at the heart of everything, on foot, with a very lively atmosphere in the bar and lobby. The Hôtel du Golf is really for getting away from it all, in the calm, far from the hustle and bustle. The Royal, my hotel, stands out for its large spaces, its magnificent views of the sea, its large bathrooms with bathtubs, and its outdoor pool. It is perfect for guests who are looking for the old style and a lot of space, while still being close to the city.
16h : First steps in the city and on Les Planches
Once settled, take a stroll in the center of Deauville to soak up its atmosphere. Walk around Place Morny, the nerve center of the city designed in the 19th century under the aegis of the Duke of Morny, the half-brother of Napoleon III and visionary founder of Deauville. Admire the elegant Norman villas with refined half-timbering that line the adjacent streets, witnesses of the seaside architecture of the Belle Époque.
Heading towards the sea, you will see the famous Deauville Boardwalk, this 643-meter wooden promenade inaugurated in 1923 along the beach. Breathe in the iodine-rich air and let yourself be enveloped by the Norman douceur, the change of scenery is immediate.
If the sky becomes cloudy, Deauville remains a destination focused on relaxation. The indoor pool of the Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy, heated to 28°C and bathed in natural light thanks to its glass roof, offers an elegant setting for unwinding. Swimming and lounging on the deckchairs of this iconic place allow you to fully enjoy even when the weather turns sour.

8 PM: Refined Dinner and Iconic Cocktails
For your first evening, enjoy a memorable gastronomic stopover between two exceptional restaurants of the Barrière group. On one side, La Belle Époque at Normandy, led by Chef Christophe Bezannier, enchants with its magical decor featuring crystal chandeliers, a glass roof, and large mirrors. Traditional French cuisine takes center stage with dishes like sole meunière, Yvetot pork chop, or sweetbreads competing in finesse.
On the other side, Le Côté Royal at Hôtel Le Royal offers a majestic atmosphere among wood paneling, pleated curtains, and imposing windows. Culinary art is orchestrated with precision under the guidance of Chef Éric Provost, featuring local products, revisited Norman flavors, and fresh fish. Two ideal addresses to start your weekend with elegance and gourmandise according to your desires.
22h: Last drink in a cozy atmosphere
After a refined dinner, there is nothing like a last drink in one of the iconic bars of our establishments. At the Bar of Normandy, the atmosphere blends Anglo-Norman elegance and cozy comfort with more than 147 whiskies to discover, calvados revisited in signature cocktails, reworked spritzes, or refined mocktails. The decor, composed of woodwork, private alcoves, and voluptuous sofas, invites you to extend the evening in gentleness.
L'Étrier, for its part, is located at the Hotel Le Royal in a sumptuous setting designed by Jacques Garcia. Its Empire-style decor, grand piano, dim lighting, and deep armchairs help create an atmosphere of understated elegance.
There, one can savor champagnes, exceptional calvados, or revisited classics, while enjoying attentive service and an atmosphere conducive to quiet conversation. Two perfect addresses to end the evening in style and extend the art of living in Deauville.
Saturday: Typical market and a walk by the sea
To start this Norman day under the sign of indulgence and sea air, dive into the warm atmosphere of Deauville from mid-morning.
10 a.m : Discovering the Deauville market
Start your Saturday with a tour of the Deauville market. By late morning, the market being open on Tuesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sunday mornings, head to the beautiful half-timbered halls near the Market Square and the marina. It's a very pleasant morning stroll to wander around, smell the aromas of warm bread or the sea, chat with merchants, and put together a basket of fresh products.
The atmosphere is friendly and gourmet, offering real reunions with Norman specialties. After shopping, many cafes and terraces line the Market Square for a well-deserved break. Deauville offers an authentic face there that will delight terroir lovers.

A few steps from the market, head towards the beach and its legendary Deauville Boardwalk. Classified as a historical monument since 2019, the Boardwalk embodies the seaside charm of the Roaring Twenties, when high society flocked here to see and be seen. Stroll along the sea, enjoy the view of the horizon, and discover the multicolored umbrellas planted in the sand, a true Norman postcard. If the weather permits in the summer, do not hesitate to take a refreshing sea bath in water around 18 °C, cool but very invigorating.
Deauville beach is supervised during the season and has showers and cabins available for rent for changing. For the more athletic, the nautical base offers paddleboarding, sailing, or even towed buoy rides in the summer.

12h: Lunch facing the English Channel
For the midday break, treat yourself to lunch with your feet in the sand at the seaside restaurants in the city.
Nestled on Les Planches since 1959, Le Ciro’s is a true Deauville institution. Its decor, blending retro chic with modern touches, evokes the luxurious liners of yesteryear, while in the kitchen, classic seafood takes center stage with a generous bouillabaisse, a sole meunière, or abundant seafood platters. Attentive service and a terrace opening directly onto the sand complete this iodized experience.
On the other side, Le Bar du Soleil, freshly reimagined by architect NIDO, offers a bright and natural setting with its 300 m² pergola, its terrace set on the sand, and its deckchairs installed under Deauville parasols.
Normandy is also a great gastronomic heritage. What are your must-see addresses?
For fish and seafood facing the ocean, our gourmet restaurant Le Ciro's works wonderfully well; there has been a real resurgence towards luxury that delights all nationalities. On the other hand, if you are looking for the authenticity of a Vallée d'Auge chicken or very good crepes, I would send you more inland. I am thinking, for example, of the distillery in Rouen which has opened a creperie offering only local and organic products, a very generous place that one does not discover alone.
The menu is inspired by Italy and world cuisines with truffled arancini, Cacio e Pepe pasta, rib-eye steak or grilled sea bass, as well as light desserts. All of this is enjoyed in a convivial atmosphere, rhythmically accompanied by the sound of waves and the play of light between sea and sky.
14h: Relaxation, culture, and leisure à la carte
During a stay in Deauville, the afternoon offers a thousand possibilities to extend the pleasure after a morning in the open air. Whether you are looking for cultural discoveries or sports activities, the destination offers a variety of experiences that will satisfy all desires.
After lunch, indulge in a moment of absolute relaxation at the Spa Guerlain at the Normandy or the Biologique Recherche Spa at the Royal. In an elegant setting, enjoy top-of-the-range facilities including a heated indoor pool at 28 °C, a sauna, a hammam, a fitness area, and treatment rooms. You can indulge in an invigorating massage or a facial treatment with Norman products to relieve the stress of the week. Whether solo, as a couple in a duo cabin, or while the children enjoy the hotel's kids club, everyone finds happiness here.

If you're in the mood to explore local heritage, the afternoon is perfect for discovering the rich cultural heritage of Deauville. One of the must-see stops is the Les Franciscaines cultural center.
Housed in a former 19th-century convent converted in 2021 into a state-of-the-art art center, this 6,200 m² space includes both a museum, a media library, and various exhibitions. Impressionist paintings, photographs of stars who have walked in Deauville, youth workshops, and literary conferences create an eclectic program that will delight curious minds. The building itself is worth a look with its remarkable blend of heritage and contemporary design.

Another iconic place, Villa Strassburger is a superb Anglo-Norman house listed as a historic monument, built in 1907 by Baron Henri de Rothschild on land purchased from the family of Gustave Flaubert. Its half-timbered architecture and Belle Époque furniture make it a living testimony of past vacations. You can opt for a guided tour to learn more about this must-see of local culture.
Discover our activities in Deauville
DiscoverDeauville also offers a great range of outdoor activities. Horse lovers can visit the Deauville-La Touques Racecourse, a true temple of horse racing.
If a race takes place during your stay, especially in summer during the Deauville meeting in August, don't miss attending an afternoon of galloping to feel the thrill of the thoroughbreds in the stands. Outside competitions, the racecourse offers guided tours on some mornings to discover behind the scenes.

Deauville is very famous for its Planches. Which places do you recommend to those seeking a more confidential side of the region?
For those who love architecture, I recommend more private visits like the Villa Strasburger, which is not open to the general public every day. For a typical cultural and artistic touch of the city, Les Franciscaines are very popular. If you want to venture a little inland, I love suggesting the Manoir du désert en fleurs or the magnificent Château de Boutemont, real little gems that are not well known and that we can organize tailor-made for our clients.
8 PM: Gourmet evening and electric atmosphere
After a full day, start with a gourmet dinner in an exceptional setting. For a Saturday evening marked by elegance, two Barrière addresses offer distinctly different atmospheres.
Nestled in the heart of the Barrière Casino, Le Cercle restaurant envelops its guests in a unique atmosphere. Its Empire-style decor, highlighted by sumptuous woodwork, gilded brass, and subdued lighting, creates a perfect intimate setting for a romantic dinner. From the dining room, you can catch a glimpse of the casino's gaming tables, adding a touch of discreet spectacle to the evening. The menu, blending seafood and tasty meats, offers refined seasonal dishes served with special care.
A few minutes from downtown, Le Lassay, located on the heights at the Hôtel du Golf, charms with its soothing ambiance and panoramic view of the greens.
Its spacious, light-filled room with contemporary lines invites you to enjoy a meal while taking in the scenery. When the weather permits, the terrace becomes an ideal charming asset for sharing a dinner under the Normandy starry sky. Its gourmet cuisine, inspired by local and seasonal products, subtly combines terroir and creativity for a memorable evening.

After dinner, finish the evening with elegance at the Casino de Deauville. Located facing the sea, this iconic place offers a complete experience combining games, shows, and relaxation.
With more than 300 slot machines and classic table games like English roulette, blackjack, poker, or Texas Hold’em, the casino provides an offer to appeal to all visitors. The establishment also offers a varied program of shows and concerts throughout the year for a memorable Saturday night.
Sunday: Wild coast, final moments and grand departure
10h: Nature, relaxation, sport, and fresh air
For your last morning, there's nothing like a bit of outdoor activity to savor one last time the charms of Deauville.
Golf enthusiasts can return to the greens of Golf Barrière Deauville and enjoy an 18-hole course facing the sea, which has been a Sunday ritual for many regulars for nearly a century.
If you love horse riding, take advantage of the morning calm to book an equestrian ride. Galloping on the deserted beach of neighboring Trouville or crossing the Pays d'Auge countryside on horseback offers a pure moment of happiness in the fresh air.
If you prefer to start your day gently, nothing prevents you from prolonging the lie-in in the cozy comfort of your Barrière room before treating yourself to a relaxing break in one of the three spas of the Resort Barrière Deauville.
:format(webp):quality(80))
Succumb to an energizing massage or facial treatment with Norman products, perfect for erasing accumulated tensions. Whether you're alone, in a private cabin as a duo, or while your children have fun at the kids club, everyone finds their moment of well-being by living at their own pace.
12h: Iconic brunch or light lunch by the sea
A Sunday must-do in Deauville is the Grand Brunch at the restaurant La Belle Époque at Normandy.
Renowned well beyond Normandy, this lavish brunch attracts gourmets and families for an exceptional Sunday feast. Set under the chandeliers and mirrors of the superb Belle Époque room or on the terrace on fine days, you can enjoy unlimited oysters, crusted smoked salmon, leg of lamb, bone-in ham, refined cheeses, pastries, and homemade desserts like lemon tarts or chocolate fountain.
All accompanied by champagne if you feel like it. Make sure to reserve your table as this brunch is very popular.
:format(webp):quality(80))
The Bar of the Sea is a pleasant alternative to the traditional brunch for a Sunday lunch. Located on the famous Planks, this beachfront restaurant offers a relaxed atmosphere and a stunning view of the English Channel. Its sunny terrace is ideal for enjoying a platter of fresh seafood or a light salad while taking in the sea air. The establishment prioritizes an informal experience, perfect for those who want a quick meal before going to explore the coast.
Whatever your choice, do not leave without trying a Norman dessert. Indulge in a crepe filled with Isigny caramel, a traditional teurgoule with its cinnamon rice pudding, or artisanal ice cream at Martine Lambert, the must-visit ice cream maker known for their sublime local flavors like apple-cider sorbet.
Beyond luxury, Deauville and Le Royal seem to exude a particular emotional dimension... Do you have to be in love with Normandy to convey this magic to clients?
Absolutely! It’s essential to genuinely love where you live and work in order to speak about it properly to clients. Whenever I have a free moment, I explore the area to discover everything for myself. In very large cities, you have hundreds of museums, ultra-luxury, and grandeur. Here, there is a much stronger and more authentic emotional connection to share with our visitors.
14h: Getaway to Trouville and Latest Discoveries
Cross the footbridge over the Touques to reach Trouville, the sister city with retro and popular charm. Nicknamed the 'Queen of Beaches', this maritime city offers an authentic and warm presence that perfectly complements Deauville's elegance. Along the Savignac promenade, stroll between beach huts and magnificent Belle Époque villas, before reaching the lively alleys of the port. Take a break under the famous fish market hall, where the bustle is in full swing around the day's arrivals, ideal for a last-minute oyster tasting on the go.
:quality(80))
Trouville is also a land of inspiration: let yourself be captivated by this very particular light that once seduced Monet, Boudin, and the Impressionist painters. To end your stay in beauty, continue walking along the shore to the wilder promontory of Roches Noires.
Facing the endless horizon, enjoy one last big breath of iodized air and fill up with memories before hitting the road again, heart and mind fully refreshed.
