40 YEARS OF HISTORY
Created in 1976 in Saint André-des-Eaux, Golf International Barrière La Baule has developed over time to become one of only five golf courses in France offering 45 holes.
Originally consisting of an 18-hole course covering 60 hectares, designed by the English architects Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas, the course was extended to 27 holes covering 100 hectares in 1994. In 2000, the course boasted 36 holes following renovations by the French architect Michel Gayon. Since 2001, the golf club has offered 45 holes covering 220 hectares, across three towns: La Baule, Saint André-des-Eaux and Guérande.
In 2016, Golf International Barrière La Baule celebrated 40 years of golf, events and federation competitions.
Throughout these 40 years, the Club has been unwaveringly dedicated to the sport and has hosted national and international competitions including the 1978 French Open, which was won by Dale Hayes.
